Natural gas pressure regulating and metering stations
From high-pressure transmission pipe to burner or city network: filtration, multi-stage regulation, metering and safety shut-off in a skid, with a redundant monitor regulator behind every main regulator.

Why regulation needs engineering
Pressure fluctuation and unstable supply can lead to equipment damage (burner abnormality, pipeline leakage), energy waste and rising maintenance cost. The system is designed to give accurate, stable pressure and safe 7×24 operation with overpressure cut-off and leakage warning.
Core design features
- Dual-channel redundancy: a main pressure regulator plus a monitoring regulator, with automatic switching on failure for uninterrupted supply
- Intelligent safety interlock monitoring overpressure, underpressure and leakage, with 0.1-second emergency cut-off (ESD)
- IoT integration — pressure and flow data on phone or computer, with SCADA docking
- Multi-stage regulation for fluctuation below ±1%, matched with cyclone separators, reheaters and buffer tanks according to gas composition and use
- Low-temperature valve with electric heating or recuperator design for operation down to −50 °C
Applications
- Urban gas district pressure regulation: Adjust upstream natural gas pressure to the downstream network requirement, with metering and safety protection configured according to project needs.
- Pressure regulation and metering at factory gate: Regulate the pressure and measure the consumption of natural gas entering the plant, matching the plant's supply boundary and load range.
- Boiler house gas inlet: Supply the boiler combustion system with gas at the pressure required at its inlet, while accommodating changes in operating load.
- Industrial furnace gas supply: Fuel supply for processes such as glass and metal heat treatment, with the system configured for pressure stability and continuous operation requirements.
- Gas-fired power generation and cogeneration: Filtration, pressure regulation, metering and, where necessary, heating are configured according to the unit's inlet conditions.
- Downstream supply of LNG vaporization stations: Connect the upstream vaporization system with downstream users or the pipeline network, completing pressure matching and gas volume metering.
What we can build
Standard regulating station design, customised skid-mounted equipment, or transformation and upgrade of an existing system. Local compliance requirements can be discussed per project.

FAQ
Does a pressure regulating skid always include a metering system?
Not necessarily. The scope of supply should state whether a flow meter, temperature and pressure compensation device and metering bypass are included, and whether metering is located upstream or downstream of pressure regulation.
Is the maximum flow alone enough for sizing?
The minimum and normal flow, the range of inlet pressure variation, the outlet pressure requirement, gas quality and temperature are also needed to check that the equipment is suitable across the entire operating range.
Why does a pressure regulating and metering system need filtration?
Filtration reduces the impact of impurities on pressure regulating elements and metering equipment. Filtration precision and capacity should be determined according to gas quality, flow rate and the requirements of downstream components.
How do I choose between a single-run and a configuration with a standby run?
The choice should be based on the continuous supply requirement, maintenance schedule and permissible downtime. The number of supply runs, the standby arrangement and the switching logic should be defined at the design stage.
Can it be connected to a remote monitoring system?
Remote transmission of pressure, temperature, flow and alarm signals can be provided according to project needs; the communication protocol, control authority and interface scope should be confirmed.
Are pressure regulation accuracy and metering accuracy the same thing?
No. Pressure regulation accuracy reflects how well the outlet pressure is controlled; metering accuracy reflects how well the gas volume is measured. The applicable conditions and acceptance methods for each need to be specified separately.
